Performance Evaluation and Measurement
The QED platform provides extensive security and aggregate level performance measurement capabilities with uniform evaluations of investment rates of returns across a diversity of account structures and asset allocation constructs. Performance measurement features and reporting include:
- Cumulative and point-to-date time weighted rates of return
- Security level accounting detail supporting each component of the rates of return evaluation
- Period summaries with return component values at segment and account levels
- Category rates of return across numerous classification dimensions and ranges of values
- Composite rates of return across multiple dimensions including accounts, managers, asset types, portfolios and other levels
- Single and multiple benchmark rates of return for segments, accounts, and portfolios
Comprehensive evaluations can be produced for historical periods within the retained transaction and pricing history available in the QED platform. Time weighted rates of return linking evaluated period returns with historical returns from other systems can be entered into the QED data library for continuity.
Rates of return are true time-weighted calculations, the only method that produces results fully compliant with AIMR and GIPS at all measurement levels. Performance evaluations include composite, portfolio, AIMR/GIPS segment, user-defined asset class, economic sector, industry class, country, currency, and individual security. And, the QED parallel cash feature allows accounting for uninvested cash by AIMR/GIPS segment.
The QED platform allows you to calculate and analyze rates of return using defined composites with the flexibility to dynamically create composites of any account aggregation. Utilizing actual accounting detail, the system evaluates rates of return at run-time ensuring evaluations are accurate, auditable, and defendable while allowing you to drill down to the underlying accounting detail supporting every performance evaluation.
